In December, 1997, I put a proposal to
the Atsugi City Council that lunchtime concerts be held in the
City Hall. I am happy to report that this proposal has been realised,
and that the opening day of the City Hall in 1998 featured a koto
recital given by two Atsugi musicians. I hope that this will be
the first of many fine concerts which will enrich the cultural
life of our city.
